Hot stamping products can be applied very universally to a wide variety of substrates and material surfaces. Heat and pressure are used to level out and flatten any unevenness and roughness of the material or substrate used. A heated embossing tool activates the adhesive layer of the product, which immediately creates adhesion to the substrate. Depending on the process, the embossing tool is usually made of engraved brass or etched magnesium. The shape of the embossing die used largely determines the visual effect and feel of the hot product embossing. A basic distinction is made between the following processes and design options, whereby a wide variety of visual effects can be produced and also combined with one another:
• Face embossing / flat embossing
• Textured embossing
• Relief embossing
• Micro-Embossing
