Olivier Lapidus comes from a family of artists and designers: his mother was an actress and his father was a great couturier of the 70s and 80s, famous for dressing many of the stars of the era, including John Lennon. After a spell studying literature, he graduated from the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris.<\/p>\n\n
In 1985, he was appointed artistic director of Balmain Homme, then left for Japan, where he launched a highly successful brand (distributed in 350 shops).<\/p>\n\n
Returning to Paris in 1989, he was appointed artistic director of Ted Lapidus, a company founded by his father. His style was based on a combination of craftsmanship and innovation, introducing luminous fibres into his collections and integrating telephones and screens. He was awarded the D\u00e9 d’or de la Haute Couture in 1994 and subsequently moved to Beijing. \n<\/p>\n\n
Moving between Paris and Asia, his career has seen him work with talent and eclecticism in furniture design, hotels, perfume bottles, and even as artistic director of Lanvin. Today, he is responsible for the design of the OVE photobiomodulation mask, manufactured in France by the Lucibel group and chosen by Dior to equip its spas, notably the Cheval Blanc and the Plazza.<\/p>\n\n
