Our relationship has evolved across decades, from the designs for the 12, 15, 25, and 40-year-old expressions to the creation of the 50-year-old edition, and later, the 60-year.<\/p><p><br \/>The Balvenie 50 was conceived as a collectible expression that celebrates the distillery\u2019s enduring values, craft, foresight, and collaboration. Every edition in the fifty collection represents rarity &#8211; the interweaving of many skills and stories that have shaped the liquid over five decades. The concept, a structure of interwoven stories reflecting the many hands involved in whisky-making, came naturally, but realising it required extraordinary precision and collaboration.<\/p><p>Working in wood and metal to create such a tightly toleranced structure meant even a one-millimetre deviation would render a structure unusable. The process demanded state-of-the-art 4-axis CNC machining and a close partnership with Croglin to achieve the perfect curvature and seamless assembly.
