Ghizlane Sahli elevates Guerlain’s Orchidée Impériale Black with silk and upcycled plastic
Guerlain has revealed an artist edition of its Orchidée Impériale Black skincare. The LVMH brand turned to up-and-coming artist Ghizlane Sahli for the collection of just 12 pieces, retailing at €12,000 each.
An architect by training, Ghizlane Sahli is an emerging talent on the Moroccan art scene. Her craft? Reinventing embroidery in 3D using recovered plastic fragments covered in shimmering silk thread. “I design three-dimensional embroideries made from recycled plastic bottle caps, which I meticulously cover with silk thread, performing repetitive gestures like a mantra”, Sahli said in a statement.
