Italian hat maker Borsalino re-enters fragrance with launch of Black Iris

Italian hat maker Borsalino is looking to conquer a slice of the fragrance market with Black Iris, its first fragrance produced with Perfume Street’s licensing arm DPLG. The scent, crafted by fragrance industry veteran Chantel Roos, comes in packaging that plays to the timelessness and heritage of the iconic brand founded in 1857.

Black Iris from Borsalino marks the luxury hatmaker’s return to perfume. It launched with Perfume Street’s licensing arm DPLG, which also holds fragrance licenses for Jean Reno and Diane Von Furstenberg. Borsalino’s Black Iris is a men’s eau de parfum. Crafted by fragrance legend Chantal Roos (L’Eau d’Issey, Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium, Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Mâle…) with dsm-firmenich perfumer Nicolas Bonneville, the scent blends notes of bergamot, iris and Cetalox.
