The Dalmore taps architect Ben Dobbin for The Luminary Series 3 whisky packaging

For the third opus in its Luminary series, Scotch whisky purveyor The Dalmore called on Ben Dobbin of architects Foster & Partners. Dobbin designed a sculpture made of bronze, brass, and Scottish brown oak to house The Rare decanter.

After Maurizio Mucciola of Kengo Kuma Architects in 2020 and Melodie Leung of Zaha Hadid Architects in 2024, The Dalmore has revealed the 2025 edition of its The Luminary series that highlights whisky making artistry and architectural design.

This year, the Scotch whisky brand collaborated with Ben Dobbin of architects Foster & Partners. Dobbin designed a sculpture on which the decanter sits, using the structural principle of tensegrity where “objects seem to be built by nature through precisely balanced tension and integrity,” says The Dalmore.
