Suqqu rethinks make-up packaging with Cristal One, Eastman’s recyclable resin
Suqqu is opting for eco-responsibility with a new make-up compact made from Cristal One, Eastman’s recyclable resin. Combining luxury and durability, this case replaces traditional ABS while retaining a top-of-the-range finish.
Japanese luxury brand Suqqu, paying homage to Japanese craftsmanship and the concept of ‘natural grace’, has launched a new setting powder presented in a case made from Eastman’s recyclable Cristal One resin. This choice is part of an eco-responsible approach aimed at replacing acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) with a material that is compatible with municipal recycling systems. Cristal One resin offers a deep, glossy black finish, reinforcing the product’s luxurious aesthetic. Since its launch in February, this compact has far exceeded the brand’s expectations, achieving more than 187% of its monthly sales target.
“Consumers are increasingly expecting brands to deliver sustainable options for their beauty products but are unwilling to give up on the elegance and design aspects of the package. By adopting materials like Cristal One, brands like Suqqu meet these aesthetic demands and also contribute to environmental responsibility“, says Tara Cary, Marketing Manager for cosmetic packaging at Eastman.
