Cinema icon Willem Dafoe lends his boldness to Laphroaig single malt whisky in a campaign that celebrates the unexpected and the authentic.
For more than two centuries, Laphroaig has stood out for its unique character, described as everything from “land in a bottle” to “smoky cornucopia”. To embody this unconventional spirit, the brand chose Willem Dafoe, an actor renowned for his bold and unpredictable artistic choices.
The collaboration is illustrated in The Taste, a film directed by Tim Pope, known for his iconic music videos for Bowie and The Cure. In it, Dafoe explores the aromatic complexity of Laphroaig through evocative images and metaphors, reflecting the spirit of the Friends of Laphroaig community.
