Estrella de los Mares adopts a contemporary identity for an exceptional amontillado

Hugo Zapata designs a rigorous and timeless visual identity to enhance the historical and cultural value of a rare amontillado.

The project aims to express the oenological and heritage value of Estrella de los Mares through contemporary graphic language. The visual system is based on navigation as a metaphor for knowledge, with the star and compass rose structuring the composition, hierarchy and rhythm. The radial construction evokes time, orientation and the transmission of expertise.

The packaging is based on specific choices of materials and techniques. Fedrigoni Savile Row Tweed paper adds texture and depth, while double hot stamping in gold and lapis blue reinforces the premium feel. Detailed cutting and controlled embossing enrich the tactile experience, with each decision serving to enhance the narrative, legibility and perceived quality.
