Gordon & MacPhail call on Jeanne Gang for 85-Year-Old Glenlivet whisky packaging design
Independent Scotch whisky bottler Gordon & MacPhail has unveiled an 85-Year-Old single malt housed in sculptural packaging designed by architect Jeanne Gang. Just 125 decanters were produced, priced at £125,000.
The Gordon & MacPhail 85 Years Old from Glenlivet Distillery is claimed to be the “oldest single malt Scotch ever bottled”. A tree entwining a piece of amber was the inspiration behind the packaging design by American architect Jeanne Gang, who worked around the theme of ‘Artistry in Oak’.
Four solid bronze branches spiral upward, wrapping around and supporting the suspended, handblown glass bottle that contains the spirit. The branches will develop a patina over time.
