About us
GRAWER POLAND Embossing and Debossing Tools, brass, magnesium and polymer dies, Thinplate, Jobsaver plate, install dies on boards or for assembly in a cut die.
Thanks to our products it is possible to produce blind and hot foil embossings on paper, cardboards, leathers and ecoleather, wood, and other advertisement. Grawer Poland has been working for the biggest companies from polygraphy and advertising industries for years.
Each die is created and customized for individual customers’ orders.
Polymer matrices
These ones are the cheapest and fastest kind of dies in the production process. Polymers are ideal for a matrice/ patrice stamping and in typographic printing. Polymers are both on hard and soft ground.
Magnesium matrices
It is a fast and cheap way for hot foil embossing. Chemigraphy etched matrice can reproduce the finest details that are difficult to copy using any other method. Magnesium is also ideally suited for stamping and typographical print.
Brass dies
Engraved dies are durable and precise tools for hot foil embossing, as well as for all kinds of embossing, including 3D embossing and hot stamping with embossing. These dies are made as flat tools or in cylindrical form.
Thinplate and Jobsaver plate
To reduce the set-up time and to increase profitability of the production, we install our hot stamping dies on steel plates. Thanks to that, operators do not waste time to positioning dies against sheets in case of reproducible works. Our pressing/stamping dies can be installed on prepared boards or ready for assembling in a cut die. If few dies work interchangeably in one cut die, we can use a special memory system that will readjust the settings to the preferable position once every next die is placed in the cut die or the board.

3D embossing dies & hot stamping
Dies of this type are designed to produce embossments that are not zero-one. The effect that we can acquire is not just multi-level embossing, but a relief that completely resembles a flat relief. This type of engraving looks beautiful either on printed and monochromatic cardboards because the engravings themselves are an excellent decoration on a packaging or elegant business card. The preparation of such files is not different from a default case. We just need additional graphic of the engraved image/pattern in 1:1 scale. These dies are made of brass along with epoxy patrices. When we need to work on very thick material, we replace epoxy patrices with brass ones.
Hot stamping dies with embossment
Is one of the most beautiful ways of refinements there are. This is a technique that allows to achieve an effect of hot stamping and embossing in just one pass (mostly high embossing). The main advantages of this solution are very little time consumption and flawless matching of hot stamping and embossment. These dies are made of brass in combination of epoxy patrices. Thanks to this production method, it is also possible to produce 3D embossing , just like in case of simple embossing. Adding to 3D embossing a gold or a transparent film allows to produce extraordinary decorative and elegant refinements.
Embossing dies
Embossing dies work using matrice and patrice. Without agents such as foil and heat in the material we acquire relief, called embossment. To get this, we can use all kinds of dies we produce. Depending on pattern, quantity and used material, we will be able to select the best die. These might be brass dies with epoxy patrice, chemigraphy dies or polymer dies. Excellent results can be obtained through combining magnesium and polymer dies. In special cases we use both milled elements.
Structural dies
This is a special kind of dies to hot foil stamping , which presses a microstructure on the gilded material during applying film. Structural dies are made of brass and magnesium. Thanks to applying on the matrice a dense braided lines, we can get the result comparable with a hologram on the print. Important is the fact that these structures can be personalized and created especially for our Customer’s needs. Thanks to this, this method is suitable for counterfeit protection. Beside of this application, it is also very ornamenting so it is also used for packages and holiday cards. Structural dies are also successfully used without foil. By using them for embossing of metallized cartons, which we often see in the packaging industry.
Hot stamping dies
For that purpose, we use both brass dies and magnesium ones. Their performed work is very precise. Due to the brass, even small details are durable. Chemigraphy die is a cheaper and quicker alternative solution, which is a perfect supplement for brass dies.
Braille matrices
These are tools to press the Braille Alphabet. As a default print, we take the most common and recommended for pharmaceutical packages in Europe font – Marburg Medium. Nonetheless, we can use other fonts upon our Customer’s special request. We advise to use a monolithic aluminium die as the most optimum solution for installation in a cut die or on separate boards. A full set of it consists of a die and a brass engraved patrice. The second tool ensures reproducibility of shape, durability and absolute safety that are so much important here.
Installation systems and memory systems
When ordering a die, please define the way you would like to have it installed in a machine. If it is supposed to be fixed like a honeycomb, we can chamfer it. Or do you need a “step” to fit it into rails or handles? Will you need to fix it into mounting holes or do you want us just to cut it in 90 degrees because you will stick it to a double-sided duct tape? Dies can be prepared and finished accordingly to our Customer’s wish, but that is not all … To reduce the set-up time and to increase profitability of the production, we install our hot stamping dies on steel plates (Thinplate) that already with the matrix are just 7 mm thick (that is the same size as a traditional matrix). We can install our hot stamping dies also on Jobsaver plate. Thanks to that, operators do not waste time to positioning dies against sheets in case of reproducible works. Deep engraved / etched dies
They are designed to perform intaglioed engravings and hot stamping on thick and soft materials (such as leathers, ecoleather, bookbinding cases, and wavy (corrugated) paperboards or wood). For this purpose, both brass dies and magnesium dies are used. These two types of matrices differ from hot stamping dies in term of grooving. In case of these two dies, the deepness is two times bigger. For brass dies it is 3 mm deep, and for magnesium matrices it is 2.8 mm. Angles of how the grooves are done in these two also vary from an angle of typical grooves in hot stamping matrices. Reliefs of the deep engraved dies are made in almost perpendicular angle; in turn, this prevents imprints of the sides of the given image in used materials.
