Our Plant
Our technological know-how allows us to optimize our space and resources. The final results are high quality processes and products.
Our facilities fulfill all current regulations of industrial safety and environmental protection. Our plant in Avinyó, near Barcelona, has state-of-the-art packaging lines and a continuous improvement plan to maintain the highest standards of safety, competitiveness and efficiency.
We work daily according to a strict Quality, Environment and Safety Policy.
The plant has 10,000 sqm. divided into:
3 packaging areas.
2 warehouses for bottles and cylinders.
1 warehouse for drums and IBCs.
1 tank zone for flammable products (gases and liquids).
1 tank zone for inert products.
GRIT is certified according to ISO 9001 : 2015 e ISO 14001 : 2015 for packaging, marketing, storage and innovation of technical gases.

Products & services

Dimethyl ether
Dimethyl ether is a single component propellant in the form of liquefied gas, characterized by its versatility of application. Due to its chemical structure, it has a good vapor tension, a good expan sion ratio and is a great solvent, being compatible with both polar and non-polar solvents. Water miscibility is especially interesting, allowing water-based formulations.

HFO-1234ze
HFO-1234ze is a hydro-fluoro-olefin with a very low global warming potential (GWP) and is a propellant particularly recommended for those applications in which the formulation must be non-flammable. Due to its low GWP its use is not restricted by regulation 517/2014 known as regulation F-gas. Its development is intended as a substitute for R134a in aerosol formulations.

Isobutane aerosol grade
Isobutane is a single component propellant in the form of liquefied gas, characterized by its low pressure which is ideal for applications where low pressure propulsion is required. On the other hand, as a hydrocarbon that burns very cleanly, it is recommended for lighters. It has a 1,3-buta diene content of less than 0.1% by weight.

Isopentane / isobutane blend
This mixture of hydrocarbons has been designed to be used in formulations of shaving gels ; thanks to the technical characteristics of the product once sprayed, the foam is directly obtained in user’s hand. It can be supplied in various compositions, the most common being the 70:30 or 75:25 ratios, both by weight. This product is a mixture of a liquid and a liquefied gas, the final mixture behaves very similar to a liquefied gas, but with a very low vapor tension.

Propane aerosol grade
Propane is a single component propellant in the form of an extremely flammable liquefied gas, characterized by its high pressure, which is why it is used to boost pressure in very specific applications. This propellant is not used alone as a propellant because it does not comply with the aerosol directive regarding the maximum pressure at 50ºC

LPG propellant 3.2bar
LPG propellant 3.2bar is a mixture of propane, isobutane and n-butane with a pressure of 3.2 ± 0.2bar and a 1.3-butadiene content of less than 0.1% by weight. It’s the most widely used due to its technical versatility and cost. This product is obtained from the distillation of petroleum in the form of fraction C3 (propane) and C4 (butane / isobutane). Impurities are eliminated from both fractions and deodorized, later for the manufacture of the propellant the C4 fraction is mixed with fraction C3 until the target pressure 3.2bar at 20ºC is reached. This mixture does not have a fixed composition, since it depends on the ratio of isobutane / n-butane obtained from the crude used as raw material.

R-152a
R-152a is a low GWP, non-VOC flammable HFC propellant. It is especially suitable for use in aerosol products for the US market, since it is not declared as VOC by EPA. Furthermore, it’s a propellant that is not affected by the f-gas regulation (517/2014) or by the Spanish law of special taxes on HFCs because its GWP is less than 150. Technically speaking, thanks to its stability, compatibility with organic solvents as well as with water, it can be used in almost all aerosol uses.

Isopentane
Isopentane is an extremely flammable liquid hydrocarbon that can be included in personal care gel formulations using the traditional LPG propellant 3.2bar. Isopentane acts as a blowing agent, generating foam during the handling of the gel by the user. Isopentane can also be used as a solvent for non-polar products

n-Pentane
n-Pentane is an extremely flammable liquid hydrocarbon that can be included in personal care gel formulations using the traditional LPG propellant 3.2bar. The n-pentane acts as a blowing agent for the gel, generating the foam during the handling of the gel by the user. n-Pentane can also be used as a solvent for non-polar products.
