NEW ECO & BIO FOAMS
We assume that all foams, as all plastics, can be recycled and must go in the yellow bin. Foams that are commonly used for packaging are cross-linked foams (cross-linking is a reaction between polymer chains to link them together and this process gives the foam a better sealing properties, greater flexibility, insulation capacity and cell homogeneity and durability). Non-crosslinked foams have an easier recycling process: ECO S33 (black and white) and ECO RCL foams (the also contains 65% of recycled material). We also have foams of vegetable origin: the properties of foams made from biopolymer resins are the same as those made from plastics of fossil origin. In our catalogue we have foams that are 100% sugar cane (LJ35 BIO in black, natural and green colors and LJ45 BIO in deep black) and the BIO PT foams made from forest residues. BIO PT foams have the ISCC (International Certification Sustainability & Carbon Certification), which is an organization that certifies the plant origin of biopolymers and their correct traceability through supply chains.
LIFE CYCLE ANALYSIS
Now, when we deliver an order, we also offer the option of including the LCA of that specific product, so that the customer has reliable, quantitative information about the environmental impact. This indicator is increasingly relevant, particularly when it comes to packaging.
ZFoam at the forefront of innovation in sustainable luxury foams
In a sector that increasingly demands excellence in design and commitment to sustainability go hand-in-hand, ZFoam stands out as a benchmark for continuous innovation, holding our head up proudly with each new bit of progress. This year, ZFoam is proud to collaborate with Stora Enso to reveal two cutting-edge materials: Papira® y Fibrease®, ; derived from cellulose fibre, both are from the Wood Foams family of materials. These foams represent a real revolution in the industry: they are wholly recyclable and form part the same “circuit” as cardboard. This means that it is no longer necessary to separate Wood foam from the packaging; everything can be disposed of in the blue container, bringing simplicity to the recycling experience.. These new products add to the range of ZFoam foams, which run the gamut from ECO (made with recycled and recyclable material) to BIO (produced from sources such as sugar cane, forest residues and used cooking oil, complete with a negative carbon footprint). These top-quality, customizable, sustainable and durable packaging foams will meet absolutely all your needs. By using these foams, you are helping to take care of the environment and build a more sustainable industry, and certainly not to any detriment in the performance of the materials.
Wood Foam: PAPIRA. Thanks to our collaboration agreement with Stora Enso, specialised in the manufacture of eco-friendly and recyclable products, we offer you the Papira® range of solutions, which are also made from cellulose fibre, 100% in this case.
