Labelys acquires Etiquel

Labelys is proud to announce the acquisition of the Portuguese company Etiquel, which specializes in label printing primarily for the wine and spirits markets.

Founded in 1982 in Porto, northern Portugal, Etiquel initially produced textile labels before refocusing its efforts in the early 1990s on the wine industry, a sector that was already booming at that time. This visionary decision explains why Etiquel now generates revenue of €14 million and has become the undisputed leader in the Portuguese wine and spirits label market, with a reputation for quality and innovation that transcends borders.

The partnership between Labelys and Etiquel was facilitated by the close collaboration between the management teams of both companies, and in particular by the strong ties forged between Celestino Costa, CEO of Etiquel, and Grégoire Desmettre, Group CEO. This acquisition heralds a new era for Etiquel, providing stability and confidence to continue its growth and investments. Indeed, Etiquel has already acquired two new presses, enabling the company to expand its offering and capture more market share in the coming years.

For Labelys, the acquisition of Etiquel is a further step in its international development strategy and expansion of its customer portfolio. This acquisition strengthens Labelys' position as a major European player in the production of value-added labels for the wine and spirits markets, as well as other industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food.
