SMCG Earns International Certification for 60% Recycled Glass Content
SMCG, Promotion of sustainable development, Glass, PCR, GRS
SMCG has innovatively increased the recycling rate of cosmetic glass containers and it acquired the world's first international certification for PCR glass containers made with 60% recycled waste glass. Approaching the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification—an international standard for recycled materials—SMCG strategies to position itself as a leading company in sustainable glass technology. In the glass packaging sector, this was the world's first international certification utilizing 60% PCR recycling technology. The 60% PCR glass container is an innovative technology that dramatically reduces carbon emissions while maintaining quality and transparency. Generally, the PCR content in glass containers remains around 20% to 30%, but SMCG has overcome this limitation based on 15 years of accumulated manual glass factory experience and proprietary electric furnace technology.
