Panel discussion: The Power of Partnership: Launching the First Ultra-Low Carbon Aerosol with ELYSIS™ Aluminum

The primary aluminum industry is undergoing a transformative shift toward sustainability. At the forefront is ELYSIS, a breakthrough technology developed by Alcoa and Rio Tinto that eliminates all direct greenhouse gas emissions from the aluminum smelting process and emits oxygen instead.

This innovation is now being introduced in the consumer personal and home care sector through a collaboration between Alcoa, Ball Corporation and Unilever, marking a significant milestone in sustainable packaging.

The project involves producing aerosol cans using ELYSIS aluminum combined with 50% post-consumer recycled content, setting a new benchmark for low-carbon packaging in consumer goods.
