PaperX™ FiberTop – The First Fully Fiber-Based Tube Ready for Paper Recycling

As sustainability had become a driving force across industries, brand owners and converters face growing pressure to shift from linear to circular packaging systems. In the tube segment, the material mix has long been dominated by plastic, plastic laminates, and aluminum. But with the rise of fiber-based packaging, a new question arises:

Will there be room for a third material stream in the future? Can fiber-based tubes become a scalable, high-performance alternative to plastic and aluminum?

This session introduces PaperX™ FiberTop, the world’s first fiber-based tube concept designed for full recyclability in the paper stream — including not only the body but also the shoulder and closure. Co-developed by Neopac, AISA, and Blue Ocean Closures, the innovation achieves up to 87% plastic reduction compared to a standard tube with Fliptop cap while maintaining barrier protection and functionality, thanks to a thin EVOH layer and patented fiber-based closure system.
