You certainly know that the textile industry is highly polluting.
“More than half of the clothes we drop off at collection bins are not processed locally, but are sent abroad to end up in open landfills.”
As designers, we see a high aesthetic potential in these textile fibers to be valued.
This is what we do with Pierreplume: We work with precision in selecting the raw materials, shredding the textiles, and blending the fibers, to create high-end materials with a controlled aesthetic.
Our goal: to bring recycling into the high-end sector.
We have developed premium materials, and we can produce thick, flexible felts, as well as much harder or thermoformed consolidated materials.
The raw material creates the product. For example, the slate blue in our collection comes from the recycling of professional firefighter uniforms.
We are able to incorporate the textile waste of the brands we work with into the creation of custom materials. The possibilities are endless, from perfume packaging for Maison Matine to the interior lining of a sensory suitcase for the Sèvres Museum.
The recipes are infinite.
It’s urgent to invent more desirable paths for our end-of-life textiles. Let’s meet and see how we can create your own custom recycled textile material.
