Beiersdorf launches the world’s first beauty product with recycled CO2

Beiersdorf has hit a milestone for the cosmetics industry as it launches Nivea Men Climate Care Moisturize, its first beauty product to use an ingredient obtained from recycled carbon dioxide.

THE WHAT?: Beiersdorf has used an ingredient obtained from recycled carbon dioxide, reducing harmful emissions and contributing to a climate-positive future, for the first time in the beauty industry.
THE DETAILS: Nivea Men Climate Care will launch as a limited edition in Germany in early June, 2022 and is manufactured using electricity from 100% renewable sources and sold in fully recyclable packaging
THE WHY?: Jean-Francois Pascal, Vice President Sustainability at Beiersdorf, states: “This new men’s skin care product with the innovative CO2-recycling technology represents an important milestone for us. The ‘Climate Care’ name hits the mark very well, as our sustainability engagement goes far beyond the scope of our skin care products and puts climate action at the center of our approach.”
