Ball Corp’s new aluminum aerosol can

Ball launches lighter, aluminum aerosol can with up to 50% recycled content.

Ball Corp. has introduced a new low-carbon aluminum aerosol can that was smelted using renewable energy sources, such as hydroelectric power, and contains up to 50% recycled material.

According to the company, the product, called re:generation, has half the carbon footprint of a typical can. Due to Ball’s ReAl technology, an alloy is used to create impact-extruded cans, which lowers the packaging’s weight. Ball Corp said “re:generation is 30% lighter than a typical aluminum can while maintaining all of its strength and structure.”

The company said the launch will support its ambition to achieve its 2030 science-based targets and net-zero emissions prior to 2050.
