Novelis and Meadow partner to boost aluminium circularity in consumer packaging
Stockholm-based packaging tech company Meadow has announced a new partnership with Novelis, the world’s largest recycler of aluminium, to enhance the sustainability and scalability of its aluminium pre-fill solution, MEADOW KAPSUL™.
Novelis joins Meadow’s established supply chain network, which already includes Ball Corporation, DRT Holdings, and C-CARE, to increase the recycled content in MEADOW KAPSUL™ and support its global rollout. Earlier this year, Meadow and Ball highlighted innovations at Paris Packaging Week 2025, where MEADOW KAPSUL™ was a finalist for the ADF Innovation Awards.
With 31 facilities across four continents, Novelis recycles approximately 2.3 million metric tons of aluminium each year, including 84 billion used beverage cans. This partnership reinforces both companies’ shared commitment to reducing waste and promoting circularity in consumer packaging.
“Working with Novelis marks another exciting milestone for Meadow; as a world leader in aluminium recycling and rolling, Novelis brings not only deep industrial expertise, but the scale and reliability needed to support our continued commercial growth. Crucially, it strengthens the sustainability of our value chain, creating one of the most circular packaging solutions available today, and brings us closer to our end goal of eliminating linear packaging,” said Victor Ljungberg, CEO of Meadow.
“We are proud to work with Meadow to deliver a sustainable packaging option for consumer household products across the globe. Meadow’s focus on reducing waste and improving circularity aligns perfectly with our vision to advance aluminium as the material of choice with circular solutions. Together, we are developing innovative products to create a more circular and sustainable future,” expressed Greg Schlicht, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Novelis.
