About us

Canson puts its expertise in exceptional paper at the service of luxury brands and their premium packaging.

Canson: from art paper to luxury packaging

Long associated with the fine arts and drawing, Canson is now making its mark in the demanding world of luxury packaging. This move is driven by a love of fine papers and a clear ambition for 2026: to establish itself as a leading partner with a range of tried-and-tested, up-to-date products, designed to meet the expectations of brands and converters.

450 years of history serving the biggest names

The name Canson resonates like a familiar, almost intimate signature. Yet behind this public recognition lies a more recent expertise in packaging, patiently developed since the late 20th century. Building on a paper-making heritage dating back to 1557, the French brand draws on its expertise in fine papers to offer a range dedicated to the production of cases, assembled boxes and other perfume cards.

Matt cardboards with subtle textures created using specialised felts, and reimagined historical designs:
Canson embraces a sensory DNA, where the material itself becomes a language. In a sector where every detail counts, this tactile and visual approach offers brands a unique platform for expression, at the crossroads of art and industry.

Cardboards favoured by leading brands

Beyond aesthetics, it is in the area of sustainability that Canson aims to make a lasting impression. Based in Annonay, in the Ardèche, at the heart of a preserved natural environment, the company grounds its strategy in a commitment to practical responsibility. Optimising water use, reducing waste, sourcing locally, and managing energy consumption: every lever is being pulled to minimise the company’s industrial footprint. The latest investment to date is the commissioning of a biomass boiler at the Moulin du Roi site, saving over 5,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

The example of the ‘Grand Mûrier’ cardboard, made from 100 per cent recycled pulp—of which at least 60 per cent is post-consumer fibre—illustrates this commitment to responsible innovation, combining high brightness with a unique aesthetic signature that embraces its origins.

In a market where packaging must appeal as much as it protects, Canson is confident that its new range of cardboards and papers will meet your standards of excellence, whilst remaining true to the brand image of the products it protects.
