About us
ICA is a major Italian industrial brand of the Sherwin-Williams company that, with more than 50 years experience in coatings, has developed VIDREA, a dedicate range of paints for container glass, serving the perfume, beverage, tableware and candle packaging markets.
Building on this expertise, ICA has also introduced a new line of innovative products for plastic packaging, designed with particular attention to durability and versatility.
All our solutions are designed to meet key priorities such as performance, aesthetics, and sustainability.
To ensure outstanding performance and support our customers, we carry out ongoing testing in our Performance Lab, monitoring and meeting the demanding quality standards of the fast-evolving packaging market.
In terms of aesthetics, ICA also provides advanced coatings for metallization processes on both glass and plastic packaging. These include primers, basecoats, and dual-cure UV finishes that prepare and protect surfaces, ensuring excellent adhesion, high chemical and mechanical resistance, and premium decorative effects.
Environmental responsibility is also a priority. This is why we developed VIDREA BIO, a dedicated range of BIO paints for container glass made from renewable materials obtained through innovative processes that refine “waste” plant substances not suitable for human consumption.

VIDREA BIO - “BIO” WATER-BASED PAINTS FOR CONTAINER GLASS
VIDREA BIO is a range of BIO products for container glass made up of two water-based two-component paints (one glossy and the other one matt) created with renewable materials derived from innovative processes for refining “waste” plant substances that cannot be transformed into food for humans. This process is based on the concept of circular economy. These boundary-pushing paints for container glass have the same hardness, chemical resistance, transparency and industrial workability as the equivalent ICA products of fossil origin. These products feature excellent technical characteristics that fully respect the environment and the health of end users.
VIDREA SERIES 6 - TRANSPARENT THERMOSETTING WATER-BASED PAINTS FOR CONTAINER GLASS
The VIDREA range of products for glass is growing. Two new one-component thermosetting top coats with low-temperature curing have been added to the range of products for container glass (SERIES 6): gloss top coat GPW6102T99 and matt top coat GPW6102T10. These paints for container glass offer extremely high chemical resistance when colored with super-transparent stains of the CG series and meet the requirements of the beverage, tableware and perfume sectors. Specifically, they can pass the most demanding tests without application of subsequent transparent protective coats. These products guarantee sustainability and performance in the glass packaging sector because they combine excellent technical characteristics and optimum performance with an extremely low content of volatile organic compounds.
VIDREA SERIES 4 - CLEAR THERMOSETTING WATER-BASED PAINTS FOR CONTAINER GLASS
SERIES 4 include clear water-based thermosetting paints for container glass. Key characteristic is the high resistance to mechanical abrasion both in lacquered and transparent effects. Available for etching effect for the beverage market.
VIDREA SERIES 3 - TWO-COMPONENT WATER-BASED PAINTS FOR CONTAINER GLASS
SERIES 3 include a range of bicomponent water-based paints for container glass indicated for low temperature-drying for both matt and transparent finishes. Thanks to its characteristics the products allow a considerable energy saving during the decoration process.
