Digital control strengthens OMSO sustainable packaging decoration systems
Discover the SB021.25, OMSO’s latest platform for glass decoration: up to 3 colours, integrated hot stamping, in-line vision inspection, digital controls and UV LED technology for greater flexibility, quality and efficiency.
OMSO has been developing technologies for direct decoration of primary packaging for over seven decades. Its latest evolution, the SB021.25, has been designed to meet the growing demand for flexibility, quality and precise process control in modern glass decoration.
A key feature is the single loading and unloading station, which simplifies container flow, reduces the machine footprint and improves operator ergonomics. It also makes format changes and set-up operations easier to manage.
The SB021.25 can be equipped with up to three screen printing units for multicolour decoration. Fully servo-driven movements ensure repeatability and printing stability, even at high production speeds. An integrated hot stamping module can also be added for metallic finishes and premium effects.
Quality control is integrated directly into the production process. A linear camera vision system continuously monitors print quality and detects potential defects, allowing non-conforming containers to be identified immediately and supporting consistent quality while reducing production waste.
Digitalisation also plays a central role. OMSO’s Windows-based software features an intuitive touchscreen interface, contextual information and advanced diagnostic functions. Event logging and activity history support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, while secure remote assistance and live camera monitoring enable rapid technical intervention without requiring technicians on site.
Energy efficiency has also been considered in the machine design. UV LED lamps for ink polymerisation, combined with high-efficiency motors, reduce energy consumption compared with traditional mercury-vapour systems while improving process stability and start-up times.
The SB021.25 brings together printing precision, integrated quality control, digital operation and energy efficiency in a single platform, offering glass decorators greater control over both production and process performance.
