Interview | Florence Bidamant, Coradin

We had the pleasure of interviewing Florence Bidamant, Associate, General Manager & CCMO, at Coradin. Florence explains what innovation means to her and tells us about her experience at Paris Packaging Week.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What interested you in the packaging industry?

After working on the development of active ingredients for many years, I find it very gratifying to be able to use my experience to create packaging solutions that will protect our clients’ active ingredients and formulas. Consumers are very keen on innovation, but we need to come up with new solutions that will simplify and enhance the customer experience while protecting the contents, and in an environmentally friendly way.

Can you name a pack/product/design/project you have worked on that you are very proud of?

I am very proud of our ECODIS® range, and more particularly of its 2in1 version adopted by CLINIQUE and EUCERIN among other brands. It offers a very effective solution to protect active ingredients. It is also proof that an SME can innovate, protect its innovations, and serve major brands and groups. This motivates and encourages us to imagine the innovations that we will find on shelves around the world in the future.

What does innovation mean to you?

Innovation is a term that every company likes to use because it is positive and represents progress. Every company can innovate, whether it’s in the production techniques used, in customer service, or in proposing innovative packaging. But when we talk about product innovation, I think that it must be differentiating and must bring a real novelty to the user, otherwise we are talking about improvement. For example, when we use recycled materials, I think that chemists innovate, we improve packaging. When we use a new pack such as our GREENIS® Refill Ampoule, Coradin proposes an innovation to the brands: a patent is registered, the innovation is factual, and the customer experience is improved. It is a refillable solution that can be made with recycled materials.

How would you describe your experience attending Paris Packaging Week?

PCD is the packaging industry’s premier event for the beauty, skincare, make-up and fragrance industries. That’s why we will once again be participating in the PCD congress-exhibition, which we have been participating since 2004, on 29 & 30 June 2022, in Paris, Porte de Versailles – Stand H15 – Hall 7.2.

This is always an excellent opportunity to present our product innovations, in particular the GREENIS® range, and a brand new solid box “GAÏA Solid Box” made in France from the biosourced material SULAPAC®.

We will also take this opportunity to remind you that our ECODIS® and GREENIS® ranges have been verified by ECOCERT – COSMOS ORGANIC. This certificate guarantees that our packs are validated for organic or natural cosmetics, and that they will therefore be packaged in environmentally friendly packaging, and on request, available in recycled materials.

Finally, at Paris Packaging Week, we have the chance to meet our current and future customers, and this is essential for us. During the pandemic period we realised how much we could miss these moments of connecting face to face with the industry, so we will make the most of this event again.
