A sales record during the Bonham auction in Hong Kong for the Gordon & McPhail’s whiskey

In February at the Bonham’s Hong Kong auction, the Glen Grant 72 year old bottle obtained a record price for a “one in a million” bottle raising HK$937,500 (just under 95,000£) including buyer’s premium.

Gordon and McPhail’s Glen Grand 75 year old whisky is one of the rarest and most historic whiskies ever created. This single malt was released in 290 bottles and 200 were pre-allocated in February.

During the auction, a hand-cut crystal decanter was used to present this prestigious whiskey, which was also offered along with original NFT artwork by celebrated political cartoonist Harry Harrison, entitled ‘Year of the Dram 1948’ commemorating 1948 (the year the whiskey was made). The 2021 auction was already great fame for the same whisky, adding this unique NFT artwork only underlined the exclusiveness of the bottle.
