Summit Packaging Systems continues to invest to ensure a robust & reliable supply chain in the future

Founded in 1976, Summit Packaging Systems is a privately held manufacturer of aerosol valves, actuators and spray caps with its global headquarters in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. The company continues to invest to ensure a robust and reliable supply chain in the future.

Summit Packaging Systems is now the market leader in the USA with 70% market share and supplies a quarter of the global aerosol market, manufacturing in the USA, The Netherlands, Poland and Argentina.

A key pilar of Summit Packaging’s company strategy is to invest in  the capital base to support vertical integration. Summit produces nearly all its own components & high-speed assembly technology. The result of the vertical integration gives control over quality, cost and overall supply chain. Short & flexible lead-times are a significant competitive advantage for customers in the market today, and now more than ever, aerosol producers are having to re-evaluate their supply chains to ensure that it can meet their needs.  Because of this, Summit believes that this model of reliable & flexible supply chains will continue to drive growth in the future.

European HQ expansion:

The European headquarters (Almere, Netherlands) were expanded by 6,500sqM (total area 25,000sqM) to create a new moulding department and re-organisation of the production to support long term growth in Europe. This allowed Summit Packaging to localise more of the supply chain in Europe to ensure reliable supply chains for its customers. The expansion also included a new state of the art aerosol R&D laboratory to support customers with product development & valve qualification work, adding capacity for new moulding projects, dip tube extrusion, new valve systems and mounting cup stamping.

Summit Europe just completed the purchase of a new 2,500sqM facility opposite the main factory. This unit will be prepared as an additional production department & will ensure the capacity for growth in the future.

Racine, Wisconsin factory expansion:

The Wisconsin factory was expanded by 7,500sqM (total area 25,000sqM) to create a new moulding department and re-organisation of the production floor to support long term growth in Europe. This extra floor space allows Summit to localise more of the manufacturing process closer to the majority of its customers in the mid-west region of the USA.

Keene, NH, USA expansion:

To allow multiple large assembly machine projects at once, Summit acquired a new 750sqM facility for the design and build of high-speed assembly technology.
