The stars of Paris Fashion Week: Bella Hadid x Fabrican

Sébastien Meyer, Creative Director and Co-Founder and Arnaud Vaillant, CEO and Co-Founder of Coperni, delivered a truly breath-taking moment to conclude their Spring/Summer 2023 Paris Fashion Week show. Super-model, Bella Hadid, appeared on the illuminated catwalk, before being joined by Manel Torres, the head of Fabrican, and an assistant, who spray-painted on an instant dress, fashioned before the audience’s eyes.
After a long-awaited two years, the French capital returned with its renowned Fashion Week. And what a week it was; from Cher’s cameo at Balmain to Victoria Beckham, who staged her first show in three years. But most notably, was the moment that shocked all: Bella Hadid’s spray-on dress by Fabrican. The Coperni SS23 concluded with Bella Hadid acting as a human mannequin for a spray-on asymmetric white slip dress. Packaging Première | Coperni The spray-on technique is a patented instant, non-woven, spray on fabric, developed by Spanish fashion designer and scientist Manel Torres founder of Fabrican, at Imperial College London. Torres studied fashion design at the Royal College of Art in London and is the first ever fashion designer to have created an instant dress. The spray-on fabric dries instantly on impact with any surface, including liquids, and turns into a non-woven fabric layer. After use, the material can be removed and turned back into a solutions, available to be reused, or can be disposed of and will biodegrade into simple molecules.Packaging Première | Fabrican Developed in 2003, Fabrican has since has numerous applications: from medical, automotive, design and of course, fashion. With particular regards to fashion, the spray technology removes any technical and economic barriers producers would have once had to offering consumers customized products. Without the need to retool or stock several grades of material, Fabrican’s spray technology enables companies to easily change the physical qualities of their products (form, size, texture, colour, and even aroma) to suit each customer’s specifications.Packaging Première | Fabrican
