Guerlain celebrates 110 years of L’Heure Bleue fragrance with Yves Klein edition

LVMH-owned Guerlain has teamed up with Archives Yves Klein to celebrate 110 years of its L’Heure Bleue fragrance. The 1.5 liter fragrance bottle is decorated with the French artist’s iconic blue in a matte finish, reports Luxe Packaging Insight.
For its artist edition of L’Heure Bleue marking the fragrance’s 110th anniversary, Guerlain partnered with Archives Yves Klein. Glassmaker Waltersperger created a 1.5 litre format of L’Heure Bleue’s iconic “inverted heart” bottle designed by Raymond Guerlain in 1912. The semi-automatic glassmaker explains that achieving perfect glass distribution inside the bottle was a feat due to the flacon’s large size. Both the bottle and cap are hand polished. International Klein Blue, the hue created by French artist Yves Klein, is hand brushed onto the 1.5 litre bottle, followed by several layers of matte finish applied with a spray gun.
