Premium Beauty News x Isabelle Sultan interview: “Flowers enhance biodiversity”

Isabelle Sultan discusses the Beauty as a Legacy 2030 sustainability strategy, and how Parfums Christian Dior has made the preservation of flowers and biodiversity a top priority, in and interview with Premium Beauty news.

Isabelle Sultan, Chief Sustainability Officer at Parfums Christian Dior discusses the new sustainability strategy unveiled as of last May. Isabelle presents how the major luxury and perfume brand aims to make a transition towards this sustainable strategy for 2030.

Isabelle Sultan will be speaking at PCD Paris on the 25 January at 11:15am alongside Rozenn Mainguene, Packaging Design Studio Director at Parfums Christian Dior, and will be delving into how Dior is pushing eco-design boundaries to only leave beauty as a legacy.

Isabelle Sultan said, “Flowers are very powerful enhancers of biodiversity. And yet, many studies show they are disappearing. According to a study conducted in September 2021 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), they are becoming extinct twice as fast as animals. Therefore, we need to protect and reintegrate them to the ecosystem. Our commitments and tangible actions for the environment and the climate included a specific role in this field. Flowers are part of our DNA. Christian Dior had a passion for flowers since his childhood. They surrounded his garden and he was fully aware of their power – they guided his inspiration. And of course, it is also because of our perfume business. There can be no perfume without flowers.”
