The French cosmetics sector exceeds 19 billion euros in exports in the last year

The French cosmetics industry has achieved record growth in the last year: up 18.8%, reports the FEBEA (Fédération des Entreprises de la Beauté.)

This record growth is notably due to the perfumery, make up, and skincare markets. The European Union is still the most important market for French cosmetics exports, closely followed by the United States and China. Exports to the Middle East are rapidly increasing.

This incredible growth: 19.2 billion euros and an increase of 18.8%, re-establishes France’s position as the leading country in the cosmetics industry.

“We are very pleased with these excellent results,” says Emmanuel Guichard, General Delegate of the FEBEA. “They show that, despite the current economic and geopolitical uncertainties, despite the supply difficulties and cost increases that companies are facing, French cosmetics remain very attractive worldwide. It has been able to reinvent itself to meet new consumer expectations, in particular by offering increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly products.”
