Press release | Events industry recognises Paris Packaging Week as ‘Best International Show – Europe’ in prestigious AEO Excellence Awards

Award is second for Paris Packaging Week’s record-breaking 2023 edition after it was also named ‘Best International Show’ at Exhibition News Awards in March.

Paris and London, 19 June 2023 – Paris Packaging Week’s record-breaking 2023 edition has won its second prestigious events industry award this year, being named ‘Best International Show – Europe’ at the AEO Excellence Awards in London last Friday (16 June).

Paris Packaging Week, organised by Easyfairs, won the award in a field of finalists that included major trade events across Europe in sectors such as hotels and hospitality, logistics, space, gas and defence. The AEO is the Association of Event Organisers and is the UK trade body for events businesses such as Easyfairs.

The award is the second that Paris Packaging Week has won this year; the event was also named ‘Best International Trade Show’ at the Exhibition News Awards in London in March.

The 2023 edition of Paris Packaging Week in January 2023 attracted 8,988 buyers and designers from brands, design agencies and retailers – an increase of 30% on its previous edition in June 2022.

They attended to meet more than 600 suppliers across four focused exhibitions: ADF for the global aerosol and dispensing sector; PCD for packaging of beauty products; PLD for packaging of premium and luxury drinks; and the new Packaging Première, which launched in 2023 and covers packaging for luxury products such as fashion and accessories, watches and jewellery and fine food.

Alongside the launch of Packaging Première, the 2023 edition also brought the first edition of ADF to be organised in partnership with the FEA, the world’s leading organisation for the aerosol sector.

Jennifer Burley, Commercial Director at Paris Packaging Week, said:
“Winning this second award this year is a testament not only to the outstanding work of our team, but to the huge support we have from so many stakeholders across the international packaging sector. We aim to create a vibrant event that helps the packaging community connect, do business and solve its challenges; and we are thrilled that our efforts have been recognised again by our colleagues in the events sector.”

Christelle Anya, Content & Community Director at Paris Packaging Week, added:
“On behalf of all of us at Easyfairs, I would like to thank everyone who supports Paris Packaging Week and makes it so special: our exhibitors, our media partners, many influential associations, our excellent speakers. And, most of all, the thousands of packaging designers and buyers who trust us to help them create the future of their packaging.”

The AEO Excellence Awards are judged by a panel of more than 70 senior events experts representing UK and international event organisers, venues, economic development organisations and consultancies.

Easyfairs colleagues also won an award last Friday in the ‘Best Marketing Campaign of the Year – UK Trade Show’ category for the Futurebuild show, which serves the UK construction and architecture community.
