Innovation Awards spotlight | Jil Sander
In December 2025, our prestigious jury — featuring leading names including Chanel, Dior, PUIG, Interparfums, and many more — came together to evaluate the entries for the PCD Innovation Awards. The winners were then unveiled, celebrated, and honoured at the inaugural Innovation Awards Gala, held on the eve of Paris Packaging Week 2026.
The challenge was to push the artisanal approach and feeling into an industrial process, fusing high craft and advanced production technologies, breaking the codes of traditional glassmaking.
How did the pack fulfil the brief?
Perfectly aligned with the quietly disruptive character of the collection, the bottle was conceived as a collaborative effort between the designers and renowned Milano and Rotterdam-based design studio Formafantasma, whose work is led by a deep research on the ecological and social forces shaping the discipline of design today.
A bottle with tiny, deliberate imperfections: the result of a unique glass working, merging industrial production with an artisanal approach. Balancing opposites, the Jil Sander way. This unic effect has be unconventionnal to achieve this krafted bottle.
The gesture of lifting the aluminum cap covering the bottle implies to be handling something personal and precious.
Why do you believe this pack deserves to win an Innovation Award?
Through close collaboration between designers and expert glassmakers, each bottle features an organic, asymmetrical shape with unique glass distribution and subtle imperfections—making every piece singular. The white aluminum cap protects the fragrance and evokes the gesture of unveiling a precious creation.
