Exclusive | Testimony for the 25th anniversary of PCD: Pascale Marciniak Davoult – Chanel
In this exclusive testimony for PCD’s 25 years, Pascale Marciniak Davoult, Packaging Project Manager at Chanel, reflects on the history and evolution of a key beauty packaging event. Born a quarter-century ago through the vision of pioneers like Jean-Pierre Appert and major industry players, PCD quickly united experts worldwide.
25 Years: Packaging innovation in the service of beauty
“25 years ago, PCD was born from the vision of Jean-Pierre APPERT, founder of ORIEX and PHARMAPACK, along with major figures in brand packaging Michel DUPUIS, Michel FONTAINE, Alain BETHUNE and Hervé BOUIX.
The ambition was clear: to bring together experts from around the world and offer packaging producers a prime platform to showcase their technological innovations, right in the heart of Paris, close to the brands.
Initially a biennial event, and very quickly an annual one, PCD soon established itself as a vibrant community for exchange and collaboration, a place where expertise, creativity and forward-thinking come together to shape the future of the industry.
Built step by step, with rigor, ambition and good spirit, PCD has always placed people and passion at the center of its development.
Today, this legacy makes us the unmissable meeting place for perfume and beauty industry players in Paris.
Let us now look ahead to the next 25 years with the same convictions that drive us to design products that are both beautiful and sustainable, meaningful for consumers, and to innovate with passion and responsibility.
We are fully aware of the environmental challenges that concern us all.”
