Sustainability
Sustainability is not just an empty word but an actively applied corporate principle. Visitors can learn more about RECOSYS®, the heart of KURZ’s ‘Lifecycle Thinking’, among other things: The PET return system, unique in the world to date, enables the residual carrier material from the finishing process to be processed into high-quality recycled pellets and used in the plastics industry.

A special highlight of our trade fair presentation this year is once again our successful BOXES concept, which allows us to visually clarify and experience the current social trends,” says senior designer Julia König from the KURZ trend team, who has been working with a trend agency to explore the zeitgeist and the current issues faced by society. The results of this research are four topics that have been visually translated into an innovative packaging concept. This is an approach that has proven itself over many years and has not only inspired visitors to the KURZ trade fair stand: KURZ has already received the Red Dot Award in the Packaging Design category twice for its packaging collections from previous years, which were also presented in the form of eye-catchingly designed boxes.
DIGITAL METAL
The DM-Liner transfers a true metal layer, thereby producing a very high gloss finish. Thanks to the digital technology, variable data such as serial numbering or personalizations can be implemented with a refined metallic look. The process is suitable not only for metallizing individual elements on the print product, but can also be combined with color printing to create exclusive designs. For example, the finished surface can be overprinted in color to produce a wide variety of lumi-nous metallic colors. Alternatively, the metal transfer can be performed after the color printing to add last minute individualized elements to the print product. The digital metal foil transferred in the process is available in gold or silver and can also be produced in a wide variety of holographic designs.

Attractiveness meets Sustainability
KURZ offers more than just inspirations for extraordinary packaging design. It also provides a sound source of information on the recyclability of packaging enhanced with hot stamping and cold foils from KURZ. KURZ has extensively documented how the recyclability of packaging remains unaffected by decoration through tested KURZ transfer products.
Trustseal SFX Mosaïc
Light is refracted in many shades, but no color spectrum appears. Holographic lenses suggest endless depth but are confined within a strictly symmetrical arrangement. These exciting contrasts have been combined in the new Trustseal SFX Mosaic holographic continuous design, which Kurz will also be presenting at Luxe Pack. The light play of the achromatic color tones and the multiple repeating depth effect will stop viewers in their tracks.
Lumafin (labels)
The new range Lumafin contains various color tones stands for semi-transparent colors with a soft shimmer and refined metallic look. Depending on the incident light, the substrate color either shines through slightly or appears as an opaque, high-gloss area

LightLine InVISIBLE runs transparent labels into breathtaking, iridescent eye-catchers
The secret of our new light LINE inVISIBLE designs is a holographic effect combined with a translucent color layer. KURZ Transfer Metal: Sustainable finishing with a radiant sheen
Another ultra-thin finish from the KURZ portfolio is the KURZ Transfer Metal solution. This allows high-gloss designs to be achieved. “As usual with our finishes, KURZ Transfer Metal does not leave plastic on the product. This makes it a sustainable alternative to conventional laminates and ideal for manufacturers who value recyclable and more environment-friendly decoration, while keeping the gloss at the forefront
LUXOR® SPW: Brilliant gloss and long-lasting finishing for plastic cosmetics packaging
Another highlight in the KURZ portfolio is LUXOR® SPW. This enables brilliant white finishes to be achieved on plastic materials. We will be using high-quality designs for mascara containers, for example, to demonstrate how brilliant white decoration can be used to create glamorous accents,” explains Stéphane Royère. LUXOR® SPW can be used for large areas as well as for fine lines and details. It is scratch and abrasion resistant, ensuring that the brilliant gloss finish lasts.

KPS slim (Patent Pending): Less material consumption and smaller carbon footprint in cold transfer
“With every new refinement we develop, we always ask ourselves: How can we make this even more resource-efficient and environment-friendly than existing solutions? We will be presenting another successful example of this in the form of KPS slim (patent pending). The enhancement of the successful complete solution KPS SX+ is characterized by the significantly reduced thickness of the carrier material, which is now only 6 µm instead of the previous 12 µm. As a result, less waste is generated during production and the lower material usage reduces the carbon footprint – all with improved covering capacity and impressive edge definition, even with recycled, thin or difficult substrates.
