Lyte wins at the Environmental Packaging Awards 2025
Lyte has taken home the Household Goods award at this year’s Environmental Packaging Awards, held on 24th June 2025 at the Kia Oval, London. ckaging in the UK with Project 7’s groundbreaking trigger spray pouch the first of its kind in the UK.
Developed as a high-performance alternative to rigid plastic trigger bottles, the pouch is already proving its value on shelves across the UK through its use in the Sipcam ecofective® range.
Designed with the full product lifecycle in mind:
55% less plastic used compared to traditional rigid bottles
87.7% lower carbon footprint, thanks to reduced material needs, lighter loads, and smarter logistics
85% reduction in material weight
One truckload of pouches replaces up to 25 truckloads of bottles
Consumer Experience and Sustainability Engagement
Project 7 designed the trigger spray pouch with consumers at the core, making the switch from a rigid bottle to pouch as simple as possible:
Ergonomic Thumb Pump – More intuitive and user-friendly than conventional trigger bottles
Refillable Design Option – Encourages repeat use of the sprayer, reducing single-use components
On-Pack QR Code for Disposal Guidance – Helps consumers recycle correctly with clear, instant information
Designed for the UK’s 2027 flexible recycling mandate
Beyond household products, the pouch is ready to scale across multiple sectors, from garden and automotive, to personal care and beyond. It offers a sustainable switch that doesn’t compromise on usability, branding, or shelf presence while dramatically reducing the environmental burden.
Winning the Household Goods category is recognition of the work, partnership, and bold thinking that went into making the trigger spray pouch. We were proud to work with Sipcam to bring smarter, lighter, more circular packaging to life.
