Cosmetic refill: understanding and overcoming barriers to accelerate consumer adoption

As sustainability becomes a priority, the cosmetics industry is seeking solutions to reduce its environmental impact. Refilling cosmetic products is a promising alternative to reduce packaging, but its adoption by consumers remains a challenge.
This study, conducted by Senseva for FEBEA, identifies the key levers to encourage acceptance of refill systems. By analysing purchasing behaviours and consumer perceptions, this summary provides valuable insights for industry stakeholders. The objective is to integrate solutions that meet both consumer expectations and environmental challenges.
This award-winning study, recipient of the AAP EncoRE plus de réemploi, benefited from financial support from CITEO.
