Press release | Easyfairs to launch Paris edition of Packaging Première alongside ADF, PCD and PLD as part of Paris Packaging Week 2023

The launch of the new exhibition targeted exclusively at driving packaging innovation across the luxury products market comes as Easyfairs confirms that the 2023 edition of Paris Packaging Week will return to its traditional January dates.

Paris, 23 May 2022 – Easyfairs today announces that it is to expand its Paris Packaging Week event in 2023 with the launch of a Paris edition of Packaging Première, the event that focuses on luxury packaging design and innovation for the fashion, accessories, fine food and jewellery sectors.

Packaging Première will launch at the 2023 edition of Paris Packaging Week alongside ADF, PCD and PLD, the three existing exhibitions which focus on aerosols and dispensing technologies, perfume and cosmetics packaging and premium drinks packaging respectively.

Easyfairs also announces today that the 2023 edition of Paris Packaging Week will take place on 25 & 26 January 2023. The date signals a return to the period in which ADF&PCD and PLD traditionally took place and to its position as the first major packaging innovation event of the year.

Packaging Première first launched in Milan in 2017 and the event has built an unrivalled reputation for promoting the highest quality of packaging design and innovation for luxury products. The launch of the Paris edition follows that of a London edition of the event, which will take place in September 2022.

In Paris, the event will serve both the French and international luxury products market. Paris is a global capital of luxury brands and while PCD serves the world-leading cluster of beauty businesses around the city, Packaging Première will fulfil the same role for the city’s concentration of fashion, accessories, luxury retail and fine food companies. The exhibition will be supported by a dedicated conference theatre featuring insight from top designers and luxury brands.

Josh Brooks, event director for Paris Packaging Week, said: “Packaging Première will be a perfect complement to the existing offer at Paris Packaging Week, and will mean the event covers packaging for the full range of premium and luxury products.

“We already welcome many packaging designers and specifiers from the fine food, fashion, accessories, jewellery and luxury retail markets and we are very excited to develop our offer for this community further.

“We are also very excited to return to our traditional January time slot in 2023. We have had to move dates many times as a result of the pandemic; but it was always our ambition that, after our unique summer edition in June 2022, we would regain our position as the first meeting of the year and the event that really kicks off the year’s innovation projects for our communities.”

Expansion for Easyfairs’ premium and luxury event network

The launch is the latest step in the wider expansion and repositioning of Easyfairs’ portfolio of events for the premium and luxury markets. The portfolio now comprises:

• in Paris , the events ADF, PCD, PLD and, from 2023, Packaging Première as part of Paris Packaging Week;

• in Milan , the events Packaging Première and PCD; the events run on Tuesday-Thursday this week at Fieramilanocity in the centre of Milan;

• in London , the events PCD, PLD, Packaging Première and a new event called Food & Consumer Pack, all as part of London Packaging Week; the events run on 21 & 22 September in London.

The repositioning of the portfolio has been supported by a dynamic and colourful new graphic identity created by the leading London branding agency Butterfly Cannon.

Renan Joel, divisional director for packaging at Easyfairs UK & Global, said: “The launch of Packaging Première in Paris is a very exciting next step in our mission to drive innovation in packaging in the three hotspots of Europe’s luxury and premium markets – Paris, Milan and London.

“With these events in Paris in January, Milan in May and London in September, alongside a wonderful new identity and a constantly improving year-round content offering, we believe that we are creating an ever-stronger offer for the luxury and premium markets across Europe.

“We can’t wait to launch Packaging Première in Paris and to unite the full luxury market to create the future of luxury and premium packaging in January.”

The 2022 edition of ADF, PCD and PLD, part of Paris Packaging Week, takes place on 29 & 30 June 2022 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. To register, visit
