Cider from green energy by Thatchers

At a time when consumers are looking for more environmentally-friendly drinks, Thatchers has developed a cider that responds to this trend and “could boost the category”.

Martin Thatcher, a fourth-generation cider maker, says Juicy Apple, a new creation available in UK pubs and bars, “has the potential to grow the category by appealing to the over-25s who crave thrills and relevance in their drinks”.

In his speech to the drinks industry, Mrs Thatcher said: “We are committed to continually reducing our impact on the environment, with the ambitious target of achieving zero by 2030. To date, we have already implemented a number of sustainability initiatives, such as installing 3,500 solar panels on the farm and using innovative technology to capture CO2 emitted during the fermentation process and use it to add fine bubbles to the cider.”
