In December 2022, our prestigious jury from brands including Chanel, Dior, Interparfums and many more came together to judge the PCD Innovation Awards.

Maybelline Hyper Curl sachet mascara with tamper-evidence ring – L’Oréal

Maybelline Hyper Curl mascara is a star product in market for years. To distinguish this product from general mascara in the market, the packaging designers replaced the mascara bottle with a flexible sachet. They designed a inclined ring on the spout and 6 hooks on the cap. Hence the tamper-evidence system is easy to be screwed on without damage on line.

Fragrances - Women - Award winners

Dries Van Noten - PUIG FRANCE

The designers were briefed to make a reusable, refillable pack with a BP and a pump that does not protrude. Initial request to make a screw inside the ring. The base of the bottles is represented by shells of different materials and different decorations.

Paco Rabanne Fame - PUIG FRANCE

The packaging designers Recreated the world of Paco Rabanne dresses on a perfume bottle, that is also refillable and connected.

A feminine design, very sophisticated, with a link to fashion house, commited. The main objectives were to offer to the customer a environmentally responsible product ensuring the quality and the preservation of the fragrance.

L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme - Eau&Cèdre - Shisiedo - QUADPACK

The Eaux de Matières, d’Issey Miyake is the result of a collaboration that pushed boundaries for sustainability. The fragrance packs have a Woodacity® cap, manufactured by Quadpack using a patented procedure for drying wood.


ARMANI CODE PARFUM reflects the essence of an evolved, modern masculinity, with its new innovative, statement bottle, its new olfactory composition, and its commitment to sustainability.

In line with Cartier’s sustainability commitments, they have initiated a major revamping of our masculine fragrance “Pasha”. The objectives were to develop a new eco-designed & refillable version while improving quality.

ELGYDIUM continues its commitment to oral hygiene by promoting eco-design from the formula (certified organic) to the packaging. The main objective is to offer eco-designed products adapted to the needs of consumers by reducing the environmental impact.

Crème Care Nivea Shower Gel - Beiersdorf AG

The packaging for this range has been designed for circularity and has been improved in several ways. The bottle is not only made from at least 96% recycled plastic but is also 26% lighter than before allowing for the reduction of packaging-related CO2 emissions by 32%.

Crème Topialyse - SVR - Albéa Tubes

For the relaunch of its TOPIALYSE body cream, the French brand SVR has chosen Albéa's latest advance in sustainable development: the EcoFusionTop single-component opening and closing system.

Ultra-doux Shampoo & After shampoo Restage - L'Oréal

This restage was introduced with the aim of recapturing the uniqueness of Ultra-doux brand. The brief was therefore to redesign their shampoos and after-shampoos to become more modern, more premium and more sustainable.

A premium and tamper proof and recyclable stainless-steel dispenser with a specific tool to unlock the tamper proof system.

The new ECO pump line from HANA is a pump line that is designed to be fully recycled thanks to its innovative, patented, mono-material pump construction (truly mono-material) using 100% PP material.

Future fully recyclable and mono-material pump - Dermalogica - Aptar Beauty + Home

Dermalogica explored how to integrate their circular economy goals by sourcing high-quality, sustainable packaging ensuring the expected product experience. They wanted to modernize the existing package, while upgrading the pump and bottle to be fully recyclable. It was critical to maintain the “clinical” image, and that the packaging be omni-channel & on-the-go friendly.


The objectives for this pillar product of CHANEL's new No. 1 range, a range that has eco-design in its DNA, were to create a refillable product for which each eco-design lever was carefully thought out and worked on: reductions in the weight of materials, particularly on the glass jar, a reduction in the number of components (no booklet, no cello), and the use of recyclable and biosourced materials.

Inspired by Bauhaus, the packaging design of Skin Caviar Harmony L’Extrait is a dynamic duality of form and function. A cobalt glass vial encapsulates the potent formula deep within, while its reflection creates the impression of undeniable harmony.

The Revitalizing Cream - myBlend - Clarins

In shades of white and greige The Cream is housed in glass with pure aluminium caps, which makes it easily recyclable. With less than 4% of plastic on the whole DERMA range. The brand is aiming for plastic neutrality.

Garnier is a green brand. It’s always the pioneer for Green technologies. This sachet is made of more than 50% FSC certified paper. By using paper sachet, this is a 360° Green product: vegan formula+ biodegradable tissue + paper sachet.

The ambition was to launch an innovative mascara with a click gesture in the Allure franchise with a brush that unfolds the fringe of the lashes for a 4-dimensional result: volume, length, curve, definition.

The ambition was to launch a new innovative lipstick on Allure franchise with iconic click gesture, a new thin & refillable format. For a new make-up result of high-intensity colour and concentrated radiance and care.

Les Beiges Maxi Poudre Belle Mine Compact - CHANEL Parfums Beauté

The brief for the pack was to design the first premium case in rPET, designed to contain a compact face and body powder, in a generous "maxi" format. As part of the "Belle Mine Les Beiges" range, the lid had to be adorned with a large beige curved top and black sides.

le 8 Hypnôse - L'Oréal

The idea was to get an ultra-premium item with a high level of quality regarding the material of each component and to have a sustainable item as well.

SHU Lash Care Mascara - L'Oréal

To match the consumer insight of quicker and more efficient usage feeling, the designers developed “key opening” locker system on this mascara to optimize the screw efficiency from 360° to 45°.

Production of an Ultra-Limited Edition (20 numbered pieces) in collaboration with 3 Maisons d'Arts (Baccarat for the bottle + stopper, Bodin-Joyeux for the leather of the box and Lesage for the interior design of the box).

MAC partnered with Knoll Packaging to develop a unique keepsake advent calendar full of glamour and surprise that also has a fun interactive aspect.
