CharcuterieTree Wins Best Packaging Design 2026

Alzamora Group's award-winning cartonboard solution gives festive food packaging a second purpose, turning it into a display for sharing appetisers.

Alzamora Group's award-winning cartonboard solution gives festive food packaging a second purpose, turning it into a display for sharing appetisers.

Alzamora Group has won the Best Packaging Design 2026 award at the World Food Innovation Awards, organised by FoodBev Media. The award recognises CharcuterieTree, a cartonboard packaging solution developed for Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Noel Alimentaria.

The award was presented on 30 March during IFE London, where the jury recognised the project's combination of structural design, functionality and consumer experience.

A food pack with a second life

CharcuterieTree was designed to do more than protect and present food products. On the shelf, it takes the form of a festive Christmas pack, with a folded display structure inside.

Once opened, the cartonboard structure can be easily assembled into a Christmas tree-shaped stand for presenting charcuterie and other festive appetisers. Instead of being discarded immediately after opening, the packaging becomes part of the dining experience.

Made entirely from cartonboard, CharcuterieTree is a mono-material and recyclable solution. Its structural design also removes the need for a separate serving display, combining two functions within one packaging concept.

For food brands and retailers, this approach offers an opportunity to create seasonal packaging that attracts attention in-store and continues to be useful at home.
