Innovation, sustainability and premium beverage packaging: three award-winning cartonboard solutions.

Alzamora Group has received three awards at the European Carton Excellence Awards 2026, organised by Pro Carton and the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA). The awards, presented in Rome on 17 September, recognise some of the most outstanding developments in European cartonboard packaging.

The three winning projects demonstrate how structural design and material optimisation can address different packaging challenges across the household, beauty and premium spirits sectors.

Three awards, three packaging solutions

Innovation Award – KidGuard®

A patented child-resistant packaging solution made from a single piece of cartonboard. Developed initially for household detergents, KidGuard® integrates a sliding opening and locking mechanism directly into the carton structure, without additional components or materials. Its child-resistant performance has been validated through testing by AIJU.

Sustainability Award – Skin + Me

Developed for the British personalised skincare brand, this cartonboard pack is designed for direct-to-consumer postal delivery. Its optimised structure accommodates a 23 mm diameter product within the 25 mm thickness limit of certain UK postal formats, combining product protection, efficient distribution and a compact design.

Beverage Award – Tequila Buen Amigo Duo Pack

Created for Zamora Company, this premium spirits pack features an opening mechanism that reveals two tequila bottles simultaneously. An outer sleeve keeps the carton closed, while the unfolding structure becomes a display for both bottles. Decorative printing and premium finishes complete the presentation.
