Maison Martell taps French artist Laurentine Perilhou for €1m cognac

French macramé artist Laurentine Perilhou transformed gold wire thread, wood and jewels into a Dame-Jeanne adornment for the first launch in Maison Martell’s new luxury Cognac collection. The one-of-a-kind spirit is valued at €1m.

Les Remarquables de Martell is a new Cognac collection from Maison Martell that is destined to grow through the years. Each addition to the range will see a new artisan put their stamp on a dame-jeanne meant to transform the vessel into a work of art.

The brand called on Laurentine Perilhou for the collection’s first opus. The French macramé artist says she was inspired by the “journey of the vine” in her creation. “My aim was to make the invisible visible…from the Earth to the Sun, from the roots in the soil to the vine leaves turned upwards to the light,” she explains.
