A glass designed to maintain a balanced level of hydration

With the Furatsuku Beer Glass, Japanese brewer Yaho Brewing has come up with a design that is as surprising as it is ingenious, encouraging consumers to drink as much water as they do beer.

The Furatsuku Beer Glass didn’t come out of nowhere. It is the second item in a series launched in July 2024 with the Yukkuri Beer Glass, an hourglass-shaped glass designed to be deliberately uncomfortable to use in order to slow down the pace of drinking. With a cumulative total of 955 units sold, this initial launch had already laid the foundations for a unique approach, in which design becomes a practical tool for encouraging more moderate drinking habits.

After seven iterations, Yaho Brewing has developed a glass capable of preventing spills whilst remaining stable. Its central constriction limits spills, its flattened base allows it to stand upright, and its shape also allows the aromas to come through more effectively when tasting.
